ashes to ocean, new day begins

and at the end of the first day of the new year, our project is complete.
the archive of confidential entries and responses that comprised "please
listen to me" has been reduced to ash and delivered to the pacific ocean.
together we begin this year anew, leaving the burdens of 2009 out to sea.

to those of you that wrote, thank you. to those that spent the time listening
and advising me on this project, thank you. to my supportive friends and family,
thank you.

in gratitude. and happy new year.

...national listening day invites us to participate quietly.

Thank you for your interest in "please listen to me..."

The strength of this project is your sentiment, participation and the resulting collective unity.

Beginning on this day, National Listening Day, the confidential and anonymous
archive actively seeks participants to write daily diaristic entries.

Please feel encouraged to send entries of any length to:
pleaselistentomediary@gmail.com.

These entries are not read, but archived and saved until
December 31, 2009.

On the eve of the new year, all email will
be printed, set to fire and the remaining ashes will be delivered
to the Pacific Ocean.

Upon which, all emails will be permanently deleted.

And together we will make our contribution to absolving the weight
of the passing year.

Privacy and Confidentiality Statement:
Your emails will never be read, never be traded, never be
shared, never be re-sent, never be mass-mailed or used against
you, never be reprinted in whole or part, never be public.

Thank you in advance for your participation and willingness (and thank you to
Southern Exposure for your support).

Please join me for a day of Urban Intervention Projects on December 5, 2009 in conjunction with Southern Exposure's Passive/Aggressive Series.

and so...thankfully, it will begin

i am so overwhelmed and happy to report that southern exposure has accepted my proposal for "please listen to me".

so, together, we (meaning you and me, wherever you happen to be right now, should you choose to participate) will become silent partners and confidants.

and i, will promise to you to take all of your diaristic entries, archive them until the end of this year, ritualistically burn them and deliver the ashen remnants into the pacific ocean...thereby absolving you of any residue of their memory or effect.
this idea has been brewing for several years and i feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to realize this work.

as the preparations come into focus, i will share them by way of "please listen to me" blog.

please look for more details very soon.

i have created this diary for you and me and us

yesterday, i sent off my proposal to southern exposure in hopes that "please listen to me" will be an accepted project in the passive/aggressive public at/urban interventions day of works.

in honoring my original intentions...this project will be an online diary and a platform for participants to speak their truths anonymously and release attachments....leaving quiet and a state of contentedness in its wake.

anybody can participate.

i will let you know how it progresses.

my best wishes and sincerity to you,
victoria
